- For areas adjacent to the backstop fence and extensions, ASTM recommends the warning track to be 1/3 of the distance from home plate to the backstop
- For other areas, ASTM recommends the warning track be equivalent to 3 full strides of a running player-for youth this could be 8', for professionals this could be 18'
